More snippets from original story
Feb. 1st, 2011 12:48 amThis is just a snippet. Requires a bit more knowledge, but eh. From somewhere in the middle, ish. Strong language contained within. Fiona comes off sort of horribly in this, but in her defense, she's had a rough couple of days immediately prior.
To aid in immediate understanding, Charlie is a ghillie dubh, a sort of forest spirit; Cúchulainn is Fi's dog.

Jan. 26th, 2011 11:07 pmThis is the semester where I start to give a shit about grad school. Where I do my reading, stay on top of things, actually follow along with what my course requirements are, and pay attention to what my end goals are.
Of course, I type this as I sit on Molly's couch, watching SyFy's Alice for the second time this week. Whatev.
I've been in and out of moods lately. Lots of cranky moods. Curl-up-on-my-couch-and-mope, grumble-at-my-friends, don't-change-out-of-my-sweatpants sort of moods. I don't like this, and I hope it changes soon. I need to stop.
I wanted to update more, but I'm distracted by Alice and Hatter :)

original fic
Jan. 19th, 2011 01:34 amThis is...a snippet from the story I'm working on. Irish mythology set in and intertwined with modern day. The narrator is a twenty-something woman named Fiona. You don't need a lot of background to understand this bit.
( Dinner Conversation )
in which i am rather rude.

Thank you for letting me know, without even having to click on your profile, that you're an asshole. Next!

No mannequins?
-Not expecting much
So I'll feel totally fabulous when you settle for me.

Yeah.

Okay. I won't.

things to budget for
Jan. 5th, 2011 06:09 pmthis is primarily for my own organization and will probably be updated over time.
( things to spent money on. )
another beginning.
Dec. 31st, 2010 03:01 pmi'm gearing up for the beginning of the next term. slowly. been sick, a lot lately. unfortunate. in fact i spent so much time the last few days vomiting that i am stuck at home while all my college friends get together for new years. i hate my immune system. (i blame my niece. don't tell my sister.)
just bought textbooks, for the three that i have the information for. only $142, so far. cross your fingers, and hope that my last course doesn't have much in the way of text books. i'd love to get by this term with less than $200 spent on texts (especially if, like last term, i don't bother to read a damn one of them.)
but i don't think i can bullshit my way through this term, like i did last semester. (even i have my limits :-P )
i keep meaning to write a list of things i wish customers didn't do at work, to the tune of all those articles that i've been seeing written by restaurant staff. unfortunately, i only seem to get worked up about it while i'm at work, without the time to write it down, and then by the time i'm home all i want to do is relax and not think about work anymore. but when i go back to work, it'll be in the middle of semi-annual sale, so i might get around to that, after all.
( things i should probably do. )
i want a wii fit for my apartment. i looked it up on amazon just now, i can get the wii fit plus and balance board, like what we got my mom for christmas, brand new for only $90. the wii we have here is technically mine. i looked up a replacement wii for my mother, for when i take mine back to lexington with me, and that'll cost about $200. butch can totally afford that. in a couple paychecks, i can probably set aside enough for the wii fit. that'll make me happy -- i really enjoy doing the yoga on the wii fit.
i am only rambling at this point -- waiting for molly to come pick up my christmas presents for hanover friends so that i go lay down. so, i guess that means i'll shut up :-P

happy birthday
Nov. 30th, 2010 11:51 pmhappy birthday to me.
i am 22 years old today.
all in all, it has been a very good birthday.
i feel so very normal that is almost surreal. i love it.
i am just so very happy today. i don't even care that i still have a sinus infection and that my ear hurts and that i don't feel like doing my homework tonight.
tonight, i am happy.
and my birthday wish will come true.
